Tonight we spent the first hour of the show discussing the dark cloud surrounding the H1N1 vaccination agenda. First we discuss New York health care workers revolting over the swine flu vaccine. In the second hour we move on to more uplifting news. Last Tuesday evening, Congressman Ron Paul appeared on The Daily Show to promote his latest book, End the Fed. The appearance capped off a full day in New York City, as earlier that day Dr. Paul participated in a book signing hosted by Borders Books and took a quick trip with supporters to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. The book signing and Daily Show appearance came just days after bestselling author and historian Tom Woods appeared before the House Financial Services Committee as part of the historic hearing on Dr. Paul's Audit the Fed bill, HR 1207.

As shown by that hearing, the movement expected by the establishment to just fade away after the Ron Paul presidential campaign has now officially taken the battle for sound money, transparency, and accountability right to the Fed’s backyard in Washington, D.C. From there we discuss another World Net Daily article where the Feds have been sued to keep out of state's gun affairs. The complaint was filed seeking affirmation of Montana Firearms Freedom Act.

The action was filed by the Second Amendment Foundation and the Montana Shooting Sports Association in U.S. District Court in Missoula, Mont., to validate the principles and terms of the Montana Firearms Freedom Act, which took effect today.

Contact your representative and senators and urge them to cosponsor HR 1207/S 604 if they have not yet done so. If they have already signed on, tell them it is imperative that Audit the Fed receive a standalone, up or down vote on its own merits. Full transparency in our nation's monetary system is too important to be a minor footnote in yet another massive Washington bill, and C4L will vigorously oppose any attempts to include HR 1207 in a regulatory reform package that increases the Fed's power over our economy and lives.

According to the poll, if they could vote to keep or replace the entire Congress, just 25% of voters nationwide would keep the current batch of legislators. 57% would vote to replace the entire Congress and start all over again. Eighteen percent (18%) are not sure how they would vote.

It goes on to state that overall, these numbers are little changed since last October. With Democrats controlling both chambers of Congress, it's not surprising to find that the number of Democrats who would vote to keep the entire Congress has grown from 25% last fall to 43% today. In fact, a modest plurality of Democrats would now vote to keep the legislators. Last fall, a plurality of Democrats were ready to throw them all out.

We then move on to comment on an opinion piece on Campaign For Liberty's website titled The Liberal Fear of Guns by Jacob Hornberger.

We then move onto an article from Gun Owners of America titled 'He Had A Gun and Nothing Happened'. This is in response to the several townhall meetings across the country where firearms were present.

According to the article, The Second Amendment was added to our Constitution to ensure that the individual right to keep and bear arms not be infringed. Infringement would impair the proper functioning of the militia which had been America’s homeland security system all through colonial times and well into our republican era.

The armed attendees made it clear that they were exercising their right to keep and bear arms. Zero tolerance of firearms has become so extreme that even a picture of a gun can get a student kicked out of school. The presence of armed citizens helps correct the notion that guns are inherently dangerous.

There are those who don’t like Americans owning guns at all, let alone carrying them openly. They can be counted on to run around squawking like Chicken Little that the sky is falling -- a calamity brought about by the presence of an armed citizen in public. We are warned that: “Somebody might grab the gun and do something bad! The armed citizen will intimidate others! Tempers will flare and blood will run in the streets!”

According to the article, the current version of the software relies entirely on users to identify disputed claims, provide evidence and point the software to other instances of that claim on the web, so right now there's still not much content being highlighted.

Here are some good recommendations someone sent me if you do choose to open carry:

TO DO IF YOU ARE TO CARRY:

1) Locate a private property (church, business parking lot, etc) that gives you permission to be present with arms.

2) Ideally, a phone call should be made to the local police station to let them know. This was what was done in Arizona. Is it necessary? No. But it's a nice gesture and smooths relations. If you have the necessary license, they will say 'cool, thanks for informing us' and that's that.

3) If possible, go as a group of at least three or more. There are a number of reasons, both political and legal, for this. a) It's actually less intimidating to have multiple people armed than one. One person armed can make police nervous--lone gunman syndrome. Several people armed and you have a less suspicious social gathering of common interests. That's basic psychology. b) By extension, opposition thugs are less likely to attack a group.

4) Do not attempt to enter the town hall meeting itself. These are in government buildings--school zones and libraries--so a distance will need to be kept if armed.

5) Only people that have open or CCW permits should attempt this--any mistake or arrest will be used by the press.

6) Have fun and SMILE about it. A an angry fist with a gun will make the cover of Time magazine the wrong way.

The subject of the petition is a return to the people our individual rights, partially enumerated in the Constitution, which have been unduly taken from us by the federal government. Sheriff Mack will be a keynote speaker among many others, including State Representative, Brandon Creighton.

Evidently I suffer from this mental disorder, as I am "over 30, middle-class and well-educated" and have an "obsession with healthy eating". In the last few minutes I try to hit on a few of the new laws that go into effect in Texas as of Sept 1st, mainly HB537 which requires all occupants of a vehicle, no matter their age, to be secured by a safety belt, no matter where they are seated in the vehicle

HB 55 makes it illegal to use a wireless communication device in aschool zone unless the vehicle is stopped or a hands-free device isused. Cities or counties wanting to enforce this law must post a sign at the beginning of each school zone to inform drivers that using awireless communications device is prohibited and the operator is subject to a fine

HB 2730 amends numerous provisions regarding concealed handgun licenses(CHLs), including eliminating student loan defaults as a disqualifier,to clarify that DPS must suspend or revoke a license when the licenseebecomes ineligible and mandating that a magistrate suspend a CHL held by the subject of an emergency protective order.

HB 2664 provides a defense to prosecution if a concealed handgun license holder carries a concealed handgun into an establishment that gets 51percent or more of its income from the sale of alcoholic beverages, but has failed to post the statutorily required notice that it derives 51 percent or more of its income from the sale of alcoholic beverages.(Under current law, a concealed handgun licensee can be charged with aClass A misdemeanor for doing this.)

HB 2730 removes DPS authority to suspend a concealed handgun license(CHL) for the holder's failure to display the CHL to a peace officer ondemand. It removes associated penalties and suspensions for the failure to display.

HB 2730 increases the driver license sanction from a one-year CDL license disqualification to a lifetime disqualification if a person usesa motor vehicle to transport, conceal or harbor an alien.

HB 558 allows minors to be charged with public intoxication. SB 1188 authorizes a Texas resident to buy firearms, ammunition orfirearms accessories in any other state, not just those contiguous toTexas, to reflect updated federal statutes.

We finish the show discussing the new series on Discovery called The Colony. Here is the bio from Discovery:
