Come and Take It Radio 1/31/2010

Tonight we started the show discussing the protest held at the Austin Police Department Headquarters on Monday, January 25th. We also played a fairly positive clip from local KXAN regarding the protest which you can watch here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jabLeNQP6u0

Also, a new location has been secured for the Texas Gun Show which will be held on Feb 20-21 from 9a-5p, entry fee $7. The new location will be located at 6405 S Interstate Highway 35 in the Old Target building. You can find more info here - http://texasgunshows.net/

We then move onto the current issue regarding Austin Energy's Resource & Climate Protection Plan to 2020 which was presented to the Austin City Council on 1/27/2010. You can find the entire presentation here - http://www.austinsmartenergy.com/downloads/Updated_Recommendation_&_Plan.pdf

Austin's carbon reduction plan is more than the "Cap and Trade" bill or American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 calls for and could cost more than $2.6 BILLION for the city to implement. Here's a little more on the subject from KLBJ AM - http://www.590klbj.com/News/Story.aspx?id=1190113

In the second hour, we touch on an article found on local DJ Jeff Ward's blog titled 'Taxpayers pay $101,000 for Pelosi's in-flight 'food & drink' which you can read here - http://www.590klbj.com/JeffWard/Blogentry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10092278

We then move into the final topic of the evening and discuss the BELO Texas GOP debate that took place Friday night between Gov Rick Perry, Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison, and Debra Medina.
